Submissions and Formats of Articles

  

Current articles in Search and Discovery are presented in one or more of the following formats:

HTML text, with JPEG or GIF images/figures with text and links to figures throughout text, linked to PDF of entire article with links to figures

PDF entire article, text and figures with links to figures

PDF entire oral or poster presentation, with accompanying abstract and references

Search and Discovery is accessible to any user from its site, from the AAPG site (www.aapg.org), from the Datapages host site (www.datapages.com), and by linkage from other sites that choose to provide "gateways."

Search and Discovery articles will also be available with Datapages archival AAPG library, so that subscribers, if they wish, will be able to search for them simultaneously with the archival documents.

Presentation or manuscript

Documents/data comprising presentation or manuscript (on diskette or disc or via email or FTP). References are appreciated

Preferred Formats

Text--HTML, Microsoft Word, ASCII, Rich Text Format, PDF

Spreadsheets--Microsoft Excel, Access

Images/Figures/Graphics—PDF, PowerPoint, TIF for conversion into JPEG or GIF and into PDF

Presentations in PowerPoint are acceptable and welcomed. It should be noted that where if screened patterns are used, errors in output may require printing and scanning, with possible partial loss of resolution.

If manuscripts or presentations, those with file sizes less than 10 mb, are transmitted by email, they may be sent to this E-mail . If they are to be sent by FTP, please contact Administrative Editor E-mail Mary Kay Grosvald . If they are transmitted on CD-ROM or DVD, they may be sent to attention of Administrative Editor, Search & Discovery, AAPG, Box 979, Tulsa OK 74101.

Search and Discovery’s goal is to be helpful to authors and to be flexible in procedures and requirements so that the authors’ ideas and supporting data are presented in the most effective manner and in the most timely fashion.
