June 2015 Datapages UPDATE- North Texas, Appalachians, Russia

by Datapages Staff

Map collections from North Texas and the Appalachians were released this month in Datapages Exploration Objects, and work was finalized to add “Petroleum Geology” to the Datapages Archives. “Petroleum Geology” is the journal of translated Russian articles published by James Clarke from the 1950s through the 1980s and now is a part of the USGS collection.

We have exciting collections coming online this summer from the North Atlantic and South American regions. Watch this newsletter for information about the timing of future releases.

THANKS! Money Given to Charity

Many stopped to see and test drive our Datapages Exploration Objects database at the Denver meeting, and participate in our ACE promotion to raise money for several worthy charities. Datapages offered to donate $5 to one of several charities in the name of anyone who stopped to see DEO and cast a vote.

Nearly $1,000 was divided between:

  • Nepal Relief (International Red Cross) – a program to help provide food, shelter, clean water, and medical supplies to victims of the recent earthquakes in that country;
  • The Wounded Warrior Project – a charity and veterans service organization that offers programs, service and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of September 11, 2001;
  • AAPG Foundation’s L. Austin Weeks Undergraduate Grant Program – a program that provides grants to support the educational endeavors of undergraduate geoscience students and their student-led organizations.

On the Road with AAPG Datapages

Datapages demonstrated DEO and Archives to many who attended the GeoConvention 2015, May 4-8, at Calgary. This show is growing in importance as the premier Canadian industry show and we thank the many nice people who stopped to say hello.

Although we did not have a booth at SEAPEX, April 14-17, it was the first time we attended and will put the meeting on our list of annual events. The western Pacific basin is an exciting place for exploration. Watch for us there next year.

We look forward to renewing acquaintances when we go to Melbourne ICE, AAPG’s International Conference (ICE) coming September 13-16. Datapages will be part of the AAPG Centre area along with the Bookstore, Wiki, and other publication and training programs. Come see us there!

Contact , Datapages Sales Coordinator, for information about DEO and to schedule a webinar for your company to learn about how AAPG is helping you plan your exploration program.
